Fall Family Picnic

09 Oct 2021
1:00pm - 5:00pm EDT

As we’ve shared in our newsletter, our scheduled picnic on Saturday, October 9 from 1-5 pm will not be a fundraiser in combination with Peace Corps Night as we planned. This event is a family-friendly gathering for a joyful time together. This decision was prompted because of concerns about COVID-19 and increasing numbers of infections in our area.

Due to the rising COVID-19 infection rates, instead of a BBQ, the Zimbabwe restaurant Zweli's Kitchen will cater boxed lunches plus 1-2 platters of kabobs or samosas to share. Each boxed lunch includes fruit salad, chips, and pickle. The NCPCA will make every effort to maintain sanitary service of food. Masks are not required, unless required by the state of North Carolina at the time of the picnic, but strongly recommended. Bringing your own lunch is fine if preferred and if folks would like to share a dish for those who are comfortable to share, please feel free to bring something - we are simply offering options so that we can accommodate as many comfort levels as possible during this trying time. .

If you would like the Events Committee to order a boxed lunch for you, and/or your family member(s) that join you, please choose from the following three options:

1.     Grilled Veggie and Pesto Sandwich Wrap

2.     Piri Piri Chicken Sandwich Wrap

3.     Gluten Free? Let us know-we will check for options

To place an order for your lunch, please contact the NCPCA (via email [email protected] or by leaving a comment on this event page) and list the name of the NCPCA member, the type of sandwich and the quantity by Saturday October 2, 2021. NCPCA will pay for the meals, however, we suggest donations of $5 per person. A donation box will be set up at the picnic.  Thank you to those who have already signed up – we are looking forward to seeing you!
